I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

However I prefer the title: Nutrition therapist. And I LOVE MY JOB.

I am also known as @balancedbysarah on Instagram and Facebook.

My goal is to help all individuals heal their relationships with food and body. I am a firm believer in food freedom and intuitive eating. I promote balanced, healthy lifestyles that enhance overall wellbeing. I create colorful and nutritious recipes to inspire cooking creations at home.

I am a weight neutral dietitian, who believes that health can be found at any size. (HAES).

My Education and Experience

I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics in 2018. The UConn Coordinated Dietetics Program which included: vigorous science and nutrition courses and 1200 hours of supervised practice. My internship consisted of rotations in clinical, food service and community nutrition. I chose specialty rotations in eating disorders (outpatient, IOP and residential), pediatric nutrition, renal nutrition, private practice and more! I sat for my registration exam in 2018 and became a RDN!

Then, I began my journey as a graduate research assistant at UConn where I graduated in the summer of 2020. Here, I took classes towards a Master of Science in Health Promotion Sciences. I gained experience counseling college-aged students as a registered dietitian nutritionist at UConn Student Health and Wellness. I have counseled patients with eating disorders, disordered eating, GI problems (such as IBS, Diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease), healthy eating, food allergies, diabetes, and many more. Additionally, I conducted research for SNAP-ED Nutrition at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center working to increase healthy behaviors in children pertaining to diet and physical activity.

Since finishing my graduate degree, I’ve moved to Boston ( Somerville, MA) and wear many hats! All through my education and schooling, I’ve been a wellness blogger on Instagram! My content involves sharing tips and inspiration on living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I share nourishing recipes and ways to achieve overall wellness. I see private clients virtually who are looking to heal their relationship with food. I am also an outpatient eating disorder dietitian at Behavioral Nutrition, a licensed mental health facility in Quincy, MA. I’m grateful for the freedom to be able to help counsel, as well as use my creative energy into my blog and Instagram!
